When an architect does for himself, he has the opportunity to create a work that is his own author’s testimony. This is obvious in the presented object. The authors (and one of them also the user) have mutually agreed to create a house and environment that materializes their view of one of the possible forms of housing for independent creative people.
The family house is situated in the gardens of an old rural development in Bernolákovo. The interesting concept of the house was created as a reaction to the surrounding development. On the one hand it responds to the nearby cubic development, on the other it reflects the archetype of a country house with a saddle roof. The design of the solution is based on the composition of white matter, in which dark geometrical surfaces of the glazing are set. The project (as mentioned above) was not a standard assignment between an architect and an investor. The builder in this case was one of the authors together with his partner. Both thought about non-standard housing, which will be part of the village, but will also have its intimacy and distance from the rush of the street.
